WOD: Half “Gallant” (Hero)

WOD: Half “Gallant” (Hero)

While we all attempt every work-out without cherry-picking or complaining, sometimes you have to scale to keep up intensity. The Hero WODs are always more brutal than others, as they should be, but this one was especially long. I’m cutting all the distances and reps to make sure everyone can maintain momentum throughout.

U.S. Navy Petty Officer Second Class Taylor Gallant, 22, of Winchester, Kentucky, assigned to the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 12, based in Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek in Virginia Beach, Virginia, died on January 26, 2012, while conducting diving operations off the North Carolina coast in the Atlantic Ocean. He is survived by his son Ethan, brother Kyle, mother Elizabeth, and father Joseph.

  1. Kids did a great WOD today! They love exercise and have such enthusiasm. I gave them:

    5 Rounds
    5 Dumbbell deadlift burpees
    10 Jumping jacks
    15 Sit-ups

    James: 6:45 2 x 5#, secured sit-ups (with mommy assist)
    Jayne: 7:07 2 x 8#, all but last round of sit-ups unassisted
